Sophia was the fourth of nine children born to George Gutman and Annie Michel. On 10 Jun 1915 she married Edward James Willman II and they had four children: Edward, Marion, Norma and Paul. Sophia died of Our Lady of the Woods Nursing Home at the age of 73.
According to her daughter Marion, who was my grandmother, Sophia was a gentle, kind soul and a very loving mother. Grandma said that she died of hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis) and there is also a good chance that she also had Alzheimer's.
