Mrs. Katherine Achziger died at Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital this morning at the age of 66. Mrs. Achziger, the widow of Frederick Acziger, had been in failing health for two years. She was born July 10, 1899, and had lived in Colorado for the past 43 years, 41 of them in the Fort Collins area. She married Mr. Achziger in Greeley, Dec. 28, 1916, and the couple farmed in this area for many years. Mr. Achziger died Jan. 16, 1959, while employed by the city of Fort Collins. Mrs. Achziger was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Amalie Deines; four daughters, Mrs. Rachel Doremus and Mrs. Selma Schramm, both of Fremont, Calif., Mrs. Mildred Crawford of Route 2, and Mrs. Maxine Lord of Westminster, Calif.; and three sons, Donald of Novato, Calif., Richard of Long Beach, Calif. and Robert of Huntington Beach, Calif. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Deines of Loveland, Mrs. Irma Hoffman and Mrs. Ruth Frank of Route 4; a brother, Robert Deines of Silverton, Ore., 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from St. John's Lutheran Church by Rev. John Hennig. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, the Warren Funeral Chapel said.
