Gregoria Julian Vived, born February 19, 1854 in Alfajarin, Aragon, Spain, was one of two children know to be born to Mariano Julian and Teresa Carrere. Not much is known of Gregoria's early life.

As was the custom of the time, Gregoria learned crochet and other needle-work at an early age, making many lovely tablecloths, bedspreads, and doilies for her family during her lifetime.

Some time in 1873, Gregoria married Mariano Vived and they lived in Alfajarin, Aragon, Spain. During their marriage they had nine children, eight of whom survived infancy.

Gregoria's brother Eusavio married her husband Mariano's older sister Juana Vived.

While in Spain, Mariano and his sons had a contract to supply the Spanish Cavalry with hay and straw for the cavalry horses. In 1911, Spain was involved in a brutal civil war. When Gregoria's husband received word from his brother of the abundance of work in Central California, they made the decision to move to America, to join Mariano's brother. It took the men nearly a year to earn enough money to send for the rest of their family.

In 1912, Gregoria and her sons, Gerardo and Mariano, Jr. traveled by train from Zaragoza to Barcelona to join Gregoria's daughter-in law, Agustina Vidal Vived and Agustina's two young daughters. They sailed from Barcelona on the S/S Buenos Aires, entering New York Harbor on Monday, November 11, 1912. According to the ship's manifest, Gregoria traveled to America to join her husband Mariano, who was working at the Gelan Ranch in Fresno.

The group traveled by train across country to the Hotel de Espana in San Francisco, California, which was managed by Mr. Palacios, a relative of her husband.

Gregoria and Mariano lived in Mendota California for several years, while Mariano worked at the Miller and Lux Ranch.

As soon as they were able, they purchased some cattle and started a dairy in the Kerman area, at the west end of Shaw Avenue in Fresno County. Eventually, they moved their dairy operation to south-eastern Madera County. Upon retirement, they moved back to Fresno where they remained for the duration of their lives.

Gregoria passed away on July 08, 1938 in Fresno, California. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dionisia Vived of Alfajarin, Spain in 1887; son Angel Vived of Zaragoza, Spain in 1908; daughter Victoria Vived of Zaragoza, Spain in 1910; daughter Mariana Vived Torres of Aragon, Spain in 1912; husband Mariano Vived of Fresno, California in 1930, and her son Gerardo Vived of Elko Nevada in 1936.

She was survived by her sons Jose and Braulio Vived of Madera, California, many grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
