Clarence E. 'Slim' Francis died Oct. 6, 1972, in an underground accident at St. Joseph's Lead Co., in Viburnum, at the age of 60 years, 6 months, and 15 days.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 29, at Spencer Funeral Chapel in Viburnum. Rev. Truman Huffman was the minister, assisted by Rev. Elmer Turnbough.

Burial was at Antioch Cemetery near Fredericktown.

He was a member of Twin Oaks Free Will Baptist Church.

He was united in marriage on June 9, 1934, to Esther Jordan who survives.

Other survivors are his mother, Millie Arnett Francis of Fredericktown; three children, Fred, Farmington; Harvey, Chilhowie, Mo.; and Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Abney, Steelville, Mo.; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ollie Walker of DeSoto; Elijah of Fredericktown; Robert, Viburnum; Mrs. George (Opal) Jordan, Fredericktown; Barney, Leadington; Henry, DeSoto; Lloyd, Viburnum; Mrs. John (Ruby) Matthews, Fredericktown; a half-sister, Mrs. Harvey (Lillie) Pulliam, Farmington; one half-brother, Charley Francis, Fredericktown; four grandsons and three granddaughters; many nephews and nieces.

Mr. Francis was preceded in death by his father, Billy Francis; a brother, Chester; a daughter, Dorothy; a son, Wilbur; and one granddaughter, Corinna Francis.

Pallbearers were Ralph Pirtle, Norman Boland, Bob Owens, Leroy Kemp, Don Yount, and Harold Chilton.
