Obituary for Benjamin Franklin Dunwiddie from the Bluffton News Banner of December 27, 1943:

"B. F. DUNWIDDIE IS CLAIMED BY DEATH. DEATH FOLLOWS ILLNESS OF WEEK OF COMPLICATIONS; RITES AT REIFFSBURG. Benjamin Franklin Dunwiddie, 70, farmer and lifelong resident of Wells County, died at 12:30 Saturday morning at his home at Reiffsburg, following an illness of one week. His death was attributed to complications. The decedent was born in Wells County December 3, 1873, a son of Harrison and Rosa Moyer Dunwiddie, and had resided continuously south of Bluffton. His first marriage was to Emma Valentine February 23, 1893. Her death occurred November 12, 1910, and his marriage to Ella Leist took place September 23, 1911. Her demise occurred August 23, 1919, and the third marriage was to Azalia Williams, January 27, 1923. The latter survives. Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Carl Davis, of Petroleum, and Mrs. Ethel White of Bluffton; three sons, Henry H. Dunwiddie of Bluffton Route 3, Clarence F. Dunwiddie, of Salem, and Merlin Dunwiddie, at home; a step-son, Lewis Keener, of Winchester; two brothers, Ed Dunwiddie, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Sylvester Dunwiddie, of Sturgis, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Curtis Dukes, a brother, Will, and a sister, Jennie Dunwiddie, are deceased. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Reiffsburg Methodist Church, in charge of Rev. R. L. O'Dell, of Poneto, and burial was in the Garnand Cemetery."
