A rosary for Dominic C. Messina, 57, of 931 Audobon St., will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshal Street Chapel.

Mr. Messina died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at P&S Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mr. Messina was the president and co-owner of Standard Plumbing and Heating Co. of Shreveport, where he lived for 53 years. He was a native of Thibodeaux.

He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and received the Purple Heart.

Mr. Messina was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Club, Chamber of Commerce and Blinded Veterans Association.

He was a past president of the Louisiana Plumbing and Heating Contractors Association.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Avelene Messina; one son, Dominic Messina Jr. of Shreveport; one daughter, Donna Messina of Shreveport, four brothers, Frank Messina, Joe Messina, Vincent Messina and Newt Messina, all of Shreveport; and one sister, Mary Messina of Sun Valley, Calif.

Pallbearers will be Pete Papa, Tony Miciotto, Joe Faour, George Tully, Joe Russo and E. P. "Rickey" Brocato.
