Ray "Shorty" was born July 3, 1909 in Alexandria, MN the son of John and Raghild Lindberg. He spent most of his adult life in Breckenridge. He married Wilma Andel in 1940. He worked for the North Dakota State School of Science for 26 years. After his retirement he pursued his interests in landscaping, fishing and trapping.

Ray passed away at the Valley Nursing Home, Billings, MT on Oct, 1, 1994. Funeral services were held at the Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge on Oct 5, 1994 with interment at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge.

At the time of death Ray was survived by his wife, two sons, three daughters, 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters and a daughter, Eleanor Laehn.
