Services will be Friday for Saxon B. Scott, D.D.S., who died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was 91.
A native of Mendocino County, he attended high school in Fort Bragg. He was a graduate of the University of California and taught at the college for 19 years. He lived in San Mateo and practiced dentistry in San Francisco for 13 years and he became a resident of Santa Cruz in 1953, practicing dentistry in the area for five years.
He was a member of the Twin Lakes Baptist Church of Aptos; a 50-year member of Parnassus Presidio Masonic Lodge No. 388, F&AM; Islam Temple Shrine, San Francisco; Shriners Hospital of Crippled Children, San Francisco; a life member of the Alumni Association, University of California; life member of the San Francisco Dental Society; California State Dental Society and National Dental Society.
He is survived by two sons, Saxon Jordan Scott of Santa Cruz; Lt. Commander, Robert A. Scott, (USAF-Ret.), of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora M. Scott, who died in 1977.
Services will be conducted at White's Chapel, 138 Walnut Ave., Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Kraft, pastor of thee Twin Lakes Baptist Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.
Contributions to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1707 - 19th Ave., San Francisco, Calif. are preferred.
