Jewel Estelle "Monny" Murphy, 83, life's journey crossed into the shores of heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 18, 2010.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, on Tuesday, September 21, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Carnley, former pastor of Maurine Street Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Jewel was born on April 1, 1927, in Choctow County, Mississippi. She and Everett Lamar Murphy, Sr. were married March 24, 1951, in Stewart, Mississippi. She was a devoted wife that followed him to many states and countries during his military career.

Monny ran her own daycare, Monny's Home Daycare, for over twenty years. Jewel was a dedicated member of the Maurine Street Church of God since 1972.

Monny was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Cora Null; two sisters, Maudie Aldridge and Mamie Fulz; four brothers, Jim Null, Joe Null, Bill Null, and William Null; one son-in-law, Michael Tatarko; one grandson, Derek Dubberly of Bedford; and husband of 49 years, Everett "Graddy" Murphy, Sr. She is survived by one daughter, Margret Dubberly and husband, Tommy of Alba, Texas; sons, Lamar, Jr. and wife, Susan, Jimmy and wife, Lori, and Dwight and wife, Susan, all of Wichita Falls. She is also survived by two sisters, Lou Boyd of Watagua, and Carrie Wood of Pearl, Mississippi. Monny was also been blessed with 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home.

Jewel was an Alzheimer patient and her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Sterling House for the love, support, and care given to Jewel. They would also like to convey their deepest appreciation and thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Hospice. They not only provided excellent nursing care but spiritual blessings for Jewel and the family she left behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
