Son of Henry Richard Ahrendt Sr b.ca. 1871 Chicago and his wife Mary (Foley) Ahrendt b. 30 Aug 1872 Tipperary, Cork, Ireland who married about 1891. Young Henry Richard 'Hank' Ahrendt Jr went into business with his father as a teamster, and later a local Chicago trucking company called Henry Ahrendt & Sons. Henry R Ahrendt Jr married about 1922 Josephine Jendrasak b.ca. 1896 Chicago d. 1972. When first married the couple lived in a home at 28th and Keeler, but lost it in the early 1930's (depression). They moved in with family in a 3-room flat at 4222 W. Cermak Rd in Chicago which had a tavern out front (all owned by his father Henry Richard Ahrendt Sr). After the death of her husband 'Hank', Josephine never remarried. They had: Leatrice 'Lea' Anne Ahrendt b. 20 Apr 1923, Frances 'Frannie' Mary Ahrendt b. 12 May 1927,
