Norman H. Eucker, 64, of Madison, died at a Norfolk hospital on Saturday, May 27, 1995.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 31, 1995, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison. Rev. Terry Timm officiated with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.
Military rites by American Legion Post 35 and VFW Post 5763 were presented.
Hymns were sung by the congregation with Rodney Degner as organist.
Bearers were Myron Freudenburg, Marvin Freudenburg, Rick and Dennis Eucker, Jerry Schulz, and Robert Bachman.
Norman Eucker was born on February 14, 1931, on a farm southwest of Madison to the late Arthur and Bertha (Zessin) Eucker.
He attended School District 35 of Madison and parochial school at St. Paul's Lutheran School north of St. Bernard and Trinity Lutheran School at Madison and St. John Lutheran School-Green Garden, where he was confirmed in 1944.
He graduated from Madison High School in 1949 and farmed until 1990. He had been in failing health since 1990.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 35 of Madison and a life member of VFW Post 1644 in Norfolk.
He married Elaine Moser at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey on November 18, 1958.
Survivors include three sons, Darrell (Butch) Eucker of Burlington, Wisc., Darwin of Lincoln, and Donovan of Madison; one daughter, Mrs. John (Donell) McKenzie of Madison; nine grandchildren, two brothers, Eldor Eucker of Madison and DuWayne Eucker of Norfolk; four sisters, Violet Droescher and Mrs. Arnold (Elaine) Schulz, both of Madison, Mrs. Lyle (Betty) Bachman of Fremont and Mrs. Arnold (Donna) Frank of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife January 31, 1990.
