BRIDGET BRENNAN (1808-1874)
Mark Casey was born in Ireland and emigrated to the U.S. He and Bridget were married in Ireland and four of their children were born there. The family settled in New Jersey about 1848 and by 1854 the family had moved to Chicago Illinois. In 1855, Mark homesteaded a farm in Section 4 of Lakeville Twp. It is not certain when Mark died but there is no record of him after 1860. It is assumed that Mark is in buried St. John's Cemetery.

Mark had two sons that served with Company C of the Fourth Regiment Infantry during the Civil War. James died in 1862 of injuries received at the battle of Iuka and Patrick was discharged in 1865 and returned to Lakeville. When Patrick died in 1916 he was survived by one sister and three brothers.
