Aileen Winifred Lomax, 82, of Elm Valley, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at her home. Services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Elm Valley Community Church with pastor Ken Cunningham officiating, Burial will follow in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery, directed by Fry ~ Bartlett Funeral Home. A visitation was held Monday evening at the funeral home.
Aileen was born June 22, 1928 in Scotia, California to Wenzel and Iona Swaim. She grew up in Spearman, Texas where she met and fell in love with Kenneth Andrew Lomax. They married on September 30, 1946 in Huntsville, Arkansas. The couple moved to Abilene in 1951, then to Elm Valley in 1974. Aileen spent her days lovingly serving her family and friends. She devoted forty years to teaching Sunday school and was a founder of Elm Valley Community Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our loss is heaven's gain.
Aileen was preceded in death by Kenneth, her husband of 59 years, her parents, and her brothers, Ralph, Jimmy, and Robert Swaim
Aileen is survived by one daughter, Sherry Hall and husband Delbert of Elm Valley, two sons, Kenneth Charles "Casey" and wife Shelia of Roseville, California, and John Andrew and wife Ronda of Elm Valley, one brother Bill Swaim of Port Lavaca, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Pallbears for Aileen will be her grandsons, Ken and Jimmy Hall, great grandson John Lomax Jr., and nephews, Trenton Parks, David Swaim, and Danny Hay.
