Jack was the son of Roy Preston McKim and Clara Mable (Carney). He married Sophie Dotlich on Aug. 10, 1946 in Calumet, MN. She was the daughter of Mike Dotlich and Sophie Revior. To this union three children were born; George, Pamela. and an infant that died at birth. Jack and Sophie were later divorced and Jack never remarried.

Jack served his country in W.W.II. He enlisted at Fort Snelling, MN. in the European Theater of Operations. He fought in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Medals won were; European, African, Middle Eastern Theater, Lapel Button, 2 Overseas Bars, Good Conduct, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and American Theater Service.

Jack was cremated and his cremains were scattered on the dessert floor along the Colorado River near his home.
