Thomas Ambrose Doyle, Baring Resident Many Years, Died Monday
Thomas Ambrose Doyle of Baring, who had been seriously ill the last two months, died at 1:45 o'clock Monday afternoon, Sept. 6, 1971, at the Knox County Nursing Home. He was 89 years old and the last member of a family of eight children of John and Hanna McGraw Doyle.
Funeral services were at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at St. Aloysius Church in Baring with the Rev. Thomas Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at the Kriegshauser Funeral Home here.
Surviving are three daughters, Bernadette, Mrs. Willard Delaney, of Baring, Mary Catherine, Mrs. Martin Delaney, of Chicago, and Florence, Mrs. Leo Moore, of Kansas City, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Doyle was born Sept. 11, 1891, at Coatsville, Iowa {Missouri], and moved to the Baring area as an infant with his parents where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married Jan. 24, 1911, to Mary E. McKendry and there were the parents of four children, a son, Basil Edwin, or better known as "Bud", preceding them in death June 3, 1956. Mrs. Doyle died Sept. 16, 1960. Mr. Doyle had been engaged in farming until his retirement.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, James Doyle, and sis sisters, Miss Helen M. or "Nell" Doyle, Catherine, Mrs. J. J. Early, Alice, Mrs. Ambrose Whalen, Miss Florence Doyle, Miss Mary Frances or "Jerry" Doyle, and one in infancy.
