From the Lock Haven Express, 9 Apr 1940: Mrs. Mary Amelia Bartholomew, 88, widow of Joseph Bartholomew, who had been ill at her home, 316½ North Grove St., since Christmas, died last evening at 6 o'clock. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ezra L. Parks of Mill Hall officiating. Burial will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Bartholomew, a resident of this city since she moved here in 1902, was a native of Mill Hall. She was a member of the Mill Hall Methodist Church and Sunday School.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss F. Leone [Bartholomew], at home, and a son, Arthur D. of Philadelphia; also a sister and brother. Mrs. Emma Sweitzer and Thomas J. Hickoff of Mill Hall, and four grandchildren.
