Halifax Herald 5/22/2007 MEISNER (Myra), Phyllis Marion - 94, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, in Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born in Garden Lots, she was a daughter of the late George and Cevilla (Himmelman) Myra. Phyllis was a registered nurse. In her early years, she did relief nursing with the VON, private nursing after graduation and later at Fishermen's Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lunenburg, and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her sons, Bernard (Etta), North Battleford, Sask.; Lawrence (Linda), Garden Lots; Glenn (Eilene), Halifax; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy; four brothers and eight sisters. Friends are invited to share their memories of Phyllis during visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. Funeral service to celebrate Phyllis' life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, Rev. David Maginley officiating. Interment will be in Garden Lots Cemetery, Garden Lots. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northwood Foundation, Halifax; Zion Lutheran Church, or to a charity of your choice.
