Funeral service for George "Dutch" Drake, 90, will be Sunday, December 05, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Maxwell and Jeff Holmes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mount Oak Cemetery in Marshall County, AL. Visitation will be Sunday, December 05, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Drake died on Saturday, December 04, 2010 at Decatur General Hospital. He was born November 30, 1920, in Cullman County, AL to Earnest Lafayette Drake and Nancy Rowena Lambert Drake. He was a member of the Foresthill Baptist Church and a Charter Member of the Somerville Civitan. He had worked for Bob Gibson's BBQ for more than 40 years. He was known far and wide for his skill of barbequing. "If you could skin it he could BBQ it." He loved to fish. The obit will be on the Peck Funeral Home website. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Drake.
