Earl Perry Steinbrink

Earl Perry Steinbrink, 78 years, passed away January 13, 1999 at a hospital near his home after several months of illness. He was born on November 28, 1920 to Phebe (Lewis) and Frederick E. Steinbrink at the farm home in the Brace Community Northwest of Elwood, NE. He was the youngest in a family of 13 children. He attended Country School in the Brace area and was a graduate of Elwood High School with the class of 1939.

After graduating, Earl farmed the "home place" for a few years. During WWII, he was inducted into the military service at Fort Crook, Nebraksa on March 10, 1942. He served in the Rhineland, Central Europe with a tank battallon.

In England he met Frances Collins. They were married later on November 29, 1942. He was discharged from the on February 7, 1946 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. For about a year they lived in Hastings, Nebraska, then moved to California where Earl worked for a building contractor until he retired.

Earl and Frances were blessed with three children: Linda, Barbara and Glenn.

After their retirement, Earl and Frances moved to the retirement city of Seal Beach, CA.

Earl was preceded in death by brothers - James, George, and Charles, and an infant brother; sisters - Abby Dreher, Mary Laughter, Alice Dreher, Emily Steinbrink, Myrtle Smith; and his mother and father.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters - Linda (David) Wilson, Barbara (Barry) Reilly; and son Glenn (Lori) Steinbrink; Grandchildren - Ryan and Heather Wilson, Matthew and Anne Steinbrink, Tobin, Joshua, and Broch Reilly, all of California; a brother Leo; and sisters - Elda Burch of Elwood and Velma Steinbrink of Hastings; two sisters-in-law - Lillian Steinbrink of Albany, OR and Delores Steinbrink of Elwood and many nieces and nephews and friends.

A memorial services was held following cremation.
