OBITUARY

John Lewis RAMSEY, who suffered a stroke about three weeks ago at Pampa, passed away at his home here on Thanksgiving.

Mr. RAMSEY was born at Viola, Illinois, December 29, 1861. He moved to Kansas with his parents when 11 years old. He was married at Alma, Kansas to Myrtie HOOBLER in 1896. In 1889, he moved to Nebraska and risked there until 1914, when the family moved to the Gem community.

“Dad” RAMSEY, as he was called by young and old, leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.

Mr. RAMSEY is survived by eight children: Jake, of Houston; Freel, of Morris, Pennsylvania, and Paul, Ora, Elmira, Dorothy, Evelyn, and Pearl of Canadian.

Also, by 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the local Methodist church at 3:30. Brother Evans, of the Gem church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Troy Plunk, of the local Christian church.

Pallbearers were John CAYLOR, Cliff PYEATT, D. U. HARDIN, Clarence PYEATT, Claude COOK and Buron HENDERSON.
