Helen M. (Miller) Kring, was born on Sept. 9, 1905, the daughter Soloman and Cara (Rowe) Miller of LaPaz, Marshall Co. Ind.. Res; New Carlisle, Saint Joseph Co. Ind.,
Occ; Houswife.
On Sept. 1, 1923, Helen married Frederick F. Kring, Occ; truck driver, of LaPaz, Marshell Co. Ind., Son of Jeremiah I. and Catherine P.(Strang) Kring of LaPaz, In.
Preceding Helen in death were Her parents and a son, Frederick Jr., Feb. 13,1962, of Fort Worth, Tx. Surviving; two daughters, Lois (Dale) Redman, of LaPaz, Ind., and Maydeen (Albert) Laureys, of New Carlisle, Ind. Five sons, Wayne, Peru, Ind, Robert, of Fort Worth, Tx.,James, of South Bend, Ind., Charles, of New Carlisle, Ind., and Michael, of Mishawaka, Ind., a bother, Frank Miller of LaPaz, asister, Ollie Bower, of Plymouth, Ind. Also 22 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
On Jan. 13, 1976, a large snow storm pasted through our area, dumping ten inches of snow on the ground. Grandma Kring, like always, grabbed her snowshovel to clean her walkway. They found her lying in the snow, dead of a massive heart attack, She was seventy years old. Helen was a member of The Mothers of World War II: Post 297. American Legion, New Carlisle Post 360. Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mishawaka.
Helen was laid to rest by husband Fred in Highland Cem., South Bend Ind.
