On Oct. 12, 1647 at Dedham, Ralph m. 1) Susan Fairbanks, the youngest known child of the Dedham, Mass. immigrants Jonathan Fairbanks and Grace Smith, b. or bapt. Dec. 23, 1627 at Thorton-in-Craven near Halifax, Yorkshire, England. Susan, wife of Ralph Day, was received into the Dedham Church on July 8, 1649 and d. at Dedham July 8, 1659. They had the following five children of record at Dedham:
• i. Elizabeth Day, b. Aug. 16, 1648; d. an infant Nov. 18, 1648.
• ii. Mary Day, b. Nov. 9 (bapt. Nov. 25), 1649, d. Oct. 24, 1694 at Dedham; m. Feb 7, 1676/7 at Dedham, John Paine. Six children of record at Dedham.
• iii. Susan Day, b. Oct. 13, 1652; she prob. is the unnamed dau. of "---- Day of Dedham" b. Oct. 8, 1669 at Roxbury, Mass while serving as a servant to the household of Samuel Ruggles.
• iv. John Day, b. Apr. 15, 1654, d. Sept. 11, 1727 at Dedham, Mass.; m. May 22, 1678 at Dedham, Abigail Pond, whose death cannot be located. Five children recorded at Dedham.
• v. Ralph Day, Jr., bapt. Feb. 11, 1656/7 at Dedham, d. Oct. 21, 1694 at Dedham; m. Dec. 6, 1682 at Dedham as the 1st of her three husbands, Sarah Fuller, dau. of Lieut. Thomas Fuller and Hannah Flower, b. May 7, 1659 at Dedham. Six children of the family. The widow Sarah Day m. 2) May 14, 1704 at Dedham as his 2nd wife, Capt. John Carpenter, s. of Dea. William Carpenter and Priscilla Bennett, b. Oct. 19, 1652 at Rehoboth, Mass. and previously of Woodstock, Conn. He d. Apr. 9, 1713 at Dedham. There were no children of this marriage. Sarah m. 3) July 27, 1721 at Dedham as his 2nd wife, Samuel Ware, s. of Robert Ware, Sr. and Mary Hunting, b. Sep 30, 1657 at Dedham. Ephraim Ware d. testate at Dedham betw. Mar. 6 1730/1 (date of his will, and Mar. 22, 1730/1, when his will was probated. Sarah (Fuller)(Day)(Carpenter) Ware d. Mar. 31, 1736 at Dedham. There were no children by Sarah's third marriage.
Sgt. Ralph Day, Sr. m. 2) Nov. 15, 1659 at Dedham, Abigail Crafts, dau. of Lieut. Griffin and Alice Crafts, and widow of John Ruggles. She was b. Mar. 28, 1634 at Roxbury, Mass. and was admiited to the Dedham Church on July 20, 1662. They had one child:
• vi. Abigail Day, b. Apr. 22, 1661, d. June 15, 1725 at Needham, Mass.; m. Dec. 21, 1677 at Dedham, John Smith, only child of Christopher Smith and Mary Fairbanks, b. Nov. 19, 1655 at Dedham. He d. Oct. 7, 1722 at Needham, Mass. Ten children of the family.
Sgt. Ralph Day d. Nov. 28, 1677, with the inventory of his estate dated Jan. 10, 1677/8. Following Ralph's death, his widow Abigail m. 3) Dec. 7, 1678 at Dedham as his 2nd of three wives, Ens. Edward Adams, s. of Henry Adams and Edith Squire, bapt. Apr. 19, 1629 at Kingweston, Somersetshire, England. There were no children of this marriage. Abigail (Crafts)(Ruggles)(Day) Adams d. Jan. 19, 1706/7 at Medfield, Mass.
