Lowell A. Buerster, 88, of rural Noble, died at 9:25 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Richland Care & Rehab Center in Olney.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin.

Mr. Buerster was born December 19, 1922, in rural Clay County, the son of Andy and Veronica (Klingler) Buerster. He married Hermina Seckinger on April 16, 1947, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin and a life member of Knights of Columbus in Teutopolis. He was a retired farmer and a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Buerster is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hermina Buerster. They are the parents of 11 children, Carol Ochs (deceased), Sandra Buerster (died in infancy), Gary Buerster (died in infancy), Sharon (Pat) Correll, of Noble, Elaine (Jr.) Slunaker, of Berryville, Mark (Rita) Buerster, of Noble, Patricia Buerster, of Hammon, Okla., Peggy (Gerald) Klingler, of Watson, Tony (Missy) Buerster, of Noble, Greg (Cheryl) Buerster, of Noble, and Scott (Sandy) Buerster, of Ingraham. He was blessed with 29 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several step-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Verneatha (Melvin) Kessler, of Olney, and Bernice (Herman) Stark, of Star Route Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Veronica Buerster, two daughters, a son, his brother, George Buerster, two brother-in-laws and a sister- in- law.
