Mrs. Adeline Stephens, of Kirby, Pa., was born Feb. 19, 1833, and died Sept. 3, 1904. She was the daughter of the late Barzilla and Margaret Stephens, and was married to Bowen R. Stephens, June 15, A. D. 1856. To this union nine children were born, all of whom survive their mother: Margaret E., married to Jerome Shultz, Elizabeth C., to Frank Shriver, Furman Ellsworth, to Mantie Adamson, Brazilla, to Laura Strosnider, Nora Alice, to Josephus Lemley, Grace L. to Ross Shultz and the Misses Salome and Lida who are single remain at home with their father. In addition to her own family there remain seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two brothers, A. J. Stephens of Stephens, West Virginia and Lindsey Stephens, of Waynesburg.
