Miss Salome Stephens, a well known resident of Whiteley township, died at the home of her brother, Hartford Stephens, of near Kirby, Saturday evening, March 13, following a weeks' illness of paralysis. She was aged 60 years. Miss Stephens was a daughter of B. R. and Adeline Stephens, deceased, and spent her entire life in the community in which she died. She was a life long member of the Newtown Methodist Episcopal church. The following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. Jerome (Margaret) Shultz, of Jacksonville, Florida; Mrs. Frank (Della) Shriver, of Waynesburg, R. D. 1; I. B. Stephens, of near Waynesburg; F. E. Stephens and Mrs. Ross (Grace) Shultz, of Waynesburg; Mrs. Josie (Nora) Lemley, of Mt. Morris, and Hartford Stephens, of Kirby.
