Richard Northcott married Hannah Hans Braund April 30, 1830 at the Parish of Broadwoodwidges,County of Devon. England.
He and Hannah had 10 children, all but the last born in England.
The children were Robert Northcott, Thomas Northcott, John H Northcott, Betsy Ann Northcott, Richard Northcott, Mary Jane Northcott, Hannah A Northcott, Charlotte Northcott, William C Northcott and James L Northcott.
The family emigrated to the United States from England approximately after 1849 and before 1851, first staying in Racine county, eventually settling in the Town of Fountain, Juneau County, Wisconsin. It is said he walked to Juneau county from Racine to plot his land.

1860 Census of Fown of Fountain, Juneau County declared tht Richard Northcott, a Farmer, owned 960 acres of Real Estate and 800 acres of Personnal Estate. His acreage today is alongside Hwy 80 to the south of New Lisbon.

Their sons John, Robert and Richard were all veterans of the Civil War.
