Adam Flath Jr. was the second son of Adam Flath Sr., Adam was for the greater part of his life, a mason by trade. He built many of the brick and stone houses in Drayton and the locality. He also built the present United Church in 1892, the Roman Catholic Church at Kenilworth in 1903 and in conjunction with the Harry Schieck, the Drayton Town Hall in 1902 and 1903. Latterly he turned to farming on the 10th of Maryborough, purchasing the original Flath homestead at the first side road where he died in October 1929.
His first wife was Laura Garbutt, daughter of Rev. Thomas Garbutt. They lived in the second last house on the north side of Main Street West, his brother, Charlie in the last white brick house. Adam's family were one daughter, Luella, and four sons, Dr. Milford G. of Stanley N.D., Mervin, of Macklin, Saskatchewan, Thomas, of Detroit and Dr. Oakley of Stanley N.D.
