Richard A. Holtmeyer, 76, Washington, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008.

Mr. Holtmeyer was born May 4, 1931, in Washington, the son of George Holtmeyer and wife Rose, nee Baumker.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Brinker April 20, 1963, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Holtmeyer was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marcella Hackmann and Joan Kessler.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Holtmeyer, nee Brinker; two sons, Martin Holtmeyer and wife Mary Soete Holtmeyer, Bozeman, Mont., and Michael Holtmeyer, Washington; two daughters, Paula Haslag and husband Kevin and Christine Comely and husband Tracy, all of Washington; two brothers, Jerome Holtmeyer and wife Lucille, Washington, and Harold Holtmeyer and wife Phyllis, Lombard, Ill.; six sisters, Marian Meyer, New Haven, Thecla McCarthy and husband Terry, Tuscon, Ariz., Georgia Schroeder, Beatrice Stowe and husband Carl, all of Union, Rosemary Hendrix and husband Robert, Cape Girardeau, and Carol Babka, Creve Coeur; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 2, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. Father Greg Klump officiated.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Memorials to Pregnancy Assistance Center or St. Francis Borgia Grade School Elevator Fund are preferred.
