ANTON BECKER DIED SUNDAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS FOLLOWING ACCIDENT

Funeral services for Anton Becker, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Becker of near Fordyce, were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock from St. John's church, Rev. Father Victor End officiating. Burial was made in St. John, the Baptist cemetery. Death came at the family home Sunday afternoon, following an illness of nearly six months from cancer of the knee.

Young Mr. Becker, who would have been 21 years December 30, was born near Hartington in 1908 and baptized at Holy Trinity church January 4, 1909. As a small boy he moved, with his family, to their present home four miles south of Fordyce where he attended country school and afterwards assisted his father in farming. An accident last fall when a horse kicked his knee caused infection later developing into a cancerous growth which ultimately brought death.

Surviving, besides his parents, are four sisters, Rose, Cecilia, Anna and Josephine, and four brothers, Herman, Adolph, Gerald and Machis, all of whom are at home.
