Mrs. Kupper was born Oct. 22, 1886, to Martin and Susan Rutz in Poland, and was baptized at Konarzyny Parish, Chojnice, Pomorskie, Poland. She came to the United States at age four years and the family settled in the Flensburg area, farming in Culdrum Township. Her parents were pioneers in the area.
She married Frank C. Kupper on Oct 25, 1904 in Flensburg and they moved to Virginia, MN, until 1911 when they returned to Flensburg. They farmed until 1947. Frank died May 25, 1945. Elizabeth lived in Little Falls and Flensburg until her death.
She is survived by two sons, Alexander Cooper, Randall, and Simon Cooper, Duluth; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Julia) Fyten, Pierz; and 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. One son, Isadore Cooper, preceded her in death.
Funeral Mass was held May 30 at the Sacred Heart Church, Flensburg, with Rev. Alfred Podrosky officiating, assisted by Father Schwinghammer.
Pallbearers were her grandsons Jerome, Dennis, Paul and Stephen Fyten, and James and Thomas Cooper. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
