Sophia Ruth Helregel, 94, of West Liberty, died Jan. 6, 1991 at 7:12 p.m. at Richland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, 1991 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ste. Marie with Father Mark Stec presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with a wake service at 7 p.m. One hour visitation will be before the services on Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Memorial Fund.
Mrs. Helregel was born Oct. 21, 1896 in Ste. Marie Township, the daughter of Jacob and Louise (Adams) Hoffman. She married Frank Helregel on May 3, 1916 in Ste. Marie and he survives at age 101.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ste. Marie.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four sons, Albert of Loda, Ill., Lawrence and Vincent Dick both of West Liberty, and Walter of Pesotum, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Clorene) Ochs of Ste. Marie, Mrs. Vincent (Louise) Keller of West Liberty, Mrs. Delmar (Theresa) Radke of Springfield, and Mrs. Daniel (Mary Ann) Kuenstler of Claremont; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grand-children and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
