The June 1895 MN census for Culdrum Township states that Farmer George Schabala 55, Mary 55 and laborer George, Jr. 23, were all born in Austria and residents of MN and the current enumeration district for 7 years (since 1888). The 1910 census for his father and mother (then divorced)notes they were born in Austria-Bohemia, now the western portion of the Czech Republic. No siblings for George, Jr. were listed in the various census records

According to the Little Falls Weekly Transcript and the Little Falls Herald newspapers, George, Jr. married Mary A. Drellack of Pike Creek Township on June 22, 1898, in the Flensburg Catholic Church. She was the daughter of Lorenz and Mary (Tillman) Drellack, also spelled Drelock and Drellock in other records.

The Little Falls Weekly Transcript of Tuesday, March 20, 1900, has under the heading Flensburg Items:

George Schaballa, Jr., who died last Tuesday, was buried Friday at 10 o'clock a.m. in the Catholic cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Belzowskl from Elm Dale. There was the largest attendance ever had at any funeral from the Catholic church at Flensburg. That proves that he was esteemed by all who knew him.

MN Marriage Records list Mary Shaballa and George Svehil married on October 12, 1903, in Morrison County. Mary was likely George's widow.
