He was a graduate of Worcester High School of Commerce then enlisted for service in the US Army Air Corps during World Ar II. His WW II service saw him involved with The Manhattan Project being trained in secret communication work. When they were trained and the atomic bomb was not yet ready they were stationed in California not knowing the reason they were being held back. They finally embarked to Tinian in the Mariana Islands where he would spend almost 3 years.

After returning to the US he attended Clark University in Worcester.

He worked in the lumber business, then was involved in the trucking industry before working as a Vice President and Assistant Treasurer of Dacor Manufacturing Company Inc. before his retirement.
