Miss Josephine A. Power, 85
Josephine A. Power, 85, formerly of 11 Lake Ave. and 206 Pilgrim Ave., died Sunday in St. Vincent Hospital.
She leaves five nieces, Mary Moran of Worcester, Eileen Boudreau of Hopkinton, Winifred McNamara of Leicester, Anne Hoch of Red Hook, N.Y. and Mary Ann Lindsey of LaPlata, Md.; two nephews, Richard J. Harris of Park City, Utah, and Charles Boccico of Washington, D.C.; grandnieces and nephews; and one great-grand nephew. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas A. and Winifred P. (Brennan) Power, and graduated from Ascension High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing.
A registered nurse, Miss Power worked in St. Vincent Hospital and at various area nursing homes, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church, the Catholic Nurses Association and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association.
The funeral will be held Thursday from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Providence, Gamelin Street, Holyoke 01040.
