ONEIDA - Dolores M. Eckhard, 80, of 525 Grand St. died Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2012 in the Rome Center where she had been a resident for the last six days.
Dolores was born on April 12, 1932 in Durhamville, a daughter of Earl W. and Grace E. Hudson Carver Miles.
A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of Oneida High School class of 1950.
She married William L. Eckhard on March 1, 1952 in Madison. Mr. Eckhard died on Aug. 16, 1997.
Dolores attended the Abounding Love Fellowship Church in Durhamville.
Surviving are her loving daughter and son-in-law with whom she resided, Diane and Donald Houle of Oneida; one granddaughter, Valerie Stone of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one great-granddaughter, Cori A. Tacea and her companion, Josh Marmon of Oneida; one brother, Michael Miles of California; two sisters, Elizabeth Malone of Rome and Shirley Boyer of Oneida, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and three brothers, Claude Miles on Aug. 27, 2010, Herbert Miles on June 19, 2012 and Robert Miles, one sister Ella Mae Burch on Sept. 23, 2007.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. George N. Marmon officiating. Interment will be made in Oneida Castle Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call 2-4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 342 Main St. Oneida.
