Mrs. Nancy Phillips, aged 89 years, died Saturday at 11 a.m., at the home of her son, A. E. Phillips, in Wayne Township after a few days' illness. Death was due to complications and old age.
Mrs. Philips was born February 22, 1848, in Perry Township, the daughter of Andrew and Rebecca Myers. She joined the Valley Chapel M. P. Church when a child and for the past 16 years had been a member of the M. P. Church, of Waynesburg. She was married to Thomas H. Phillips, who died 45 years ago.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Lyda Wright, of Fairmont, W. Va.; A. Elza Phillips, Wayne Township; S. Ross Phillips, Thomas C. Phillips, and Jobe Phillips, all of Waynesburg; two step-sons, Jacob E. Phillips, Wayne Township, and James Harvey Phillips, Washington, R. D.; 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased is a daughter, Armeda Phillips Wright.
