From the "North Platte Telegraph", Dec. 1982:
"William A. Lind, 81, died Sunday in Aurora, Colo. he was born Sept. 14, 1901, in Stromsburg, Nebraska.
Mr. Lind had been chief yard clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad in Laramie, Wyoming from 1937 until he retired in 1968. He had worked there since 1923.
He married Louise Elizabeth Spurrier in North Platte, June 3, 1928, and she preceded him in death February 29, 1980.
He had moved to Aurora from Vista, California, where he had lived since 1973. Prior to that time he resided in Laramie. He was a member of the Laramie Masonic Lodge #3 A.F.&A.M and the Union Pacific Old Timers Club.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas K. Lind of Aurora, Colo., and William S. Lind of Los Angeles, Calif; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Spencer of Aurora, Colo., and Mary Sweeney of Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Bernice Lind of Stromsburg, Neb. and Irene Crosby of Seal Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Adams and Swanson Chapel with the Rev. Thomas O. Rust of the First United Methodist church officiating. Masonic rites will be by the Platte Valley Lodge #32 A.F.&A.M. Cremation will follow the services. Inturnment in North Platte Cemetery."
