From the "North Platte Telegraph", Mar. 7, 1980:
"Louise E. (Spurrier) Lind, 72, of Vista, Calif., a former North Platte resident, died Feb. 29 in Vista. She was born July 22, 1907 in North Platte, to Roy and Lydia (Scharmann) Spurrier. She attended school at Nichols, graduating from high school there in 1924. Louise married William A. Lind on June 3, 1928, and together, they began married life in Laramie, Wyoming, where he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad
After their children were raised, she followed a dream of returning to college, doing so at the age of 49. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in nursing in 1959. She followed that profession until retiring in 1973. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Laramie.
She and her husband moved to Vista in 1973, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary there in 1978.
Survivors include her husband, of Vista; two sons, William S. of Los Angeles and Douglas Lind of Vista; two daughters, Mary Sweeney of Vista and Elizabeth Spencer of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Fred Spurrier of North Platte; two sisters, Margaret Kerdus of Portland, Ore., and Gertrude Rosendale of Bremerton, Wash.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Richard, William and Donald Spurrier, and an infant son, Robert Lee Lind.
Services were held Wednesday in Vista. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in North Platte at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Tom Rust officiating. Tabler Memorial Chapel is in charge of local arrangements."
