Footville, WI -- Wayne R. Coon, age 76, died Tues. Jan. 17, 1995 in the town of Plymouth (while cutting wood). He was born May 4, 1918 in Clarksville, IA, the son of Berdette and Beancy (Walsh) Coon. He married Jean Snyder May 20, 1942 in Nashua, IA. Wayne was a member of the Footville Church of Christ. He was employed at Fairbanks Morse, Beloit and farmed in the Rock County area for many years. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his garden and with all his pets.
Mr. Coon is survived by his wife, Jean; a daughter, 4 sons, and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Verne, Lyle and Milton and a sister, Hazel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Footville Church of Christ, with Paul Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Town of Center. Friends may call Friday from 6:30 until 8:30 at Newcomer Silverthorn Funeral Home, Orfordville.
Wayne will be sadly missed, especially by his wife of 52 years. He was loved by his children, grandchildren, and all his friends at the Footville Restaurant.
