From the Clarksville Star -- June 18, 1959 -- Clarksville Man Died at Charles City Hospital. Funeral services will be held here Saturday for Bert C. Coon, 83, who died Tuesday evening at the Charles City Hospital. Mr. Coon was taken to the hospital the previous Thursday. He was born August 13, 1876 at Nevada, Iowa and married Beancy Walsh of Clarksville on Feb. 28, 1907. They farmed near Clarksville until 1920 when they moved to a farm near Fairbault, Minn. They returned to Clarksville in 1936 and this community has since been their home. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Lyle, Wayne and Milton of Janesville, Wis; a daughter Mrs. Hazel Wheeler of Minneapolis, 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A son, Vern, preceded him in death. The services Saturday will be held at 2 o'clock from the Community Church with Rev. Paul Brown in charge. Burial will be in Lynwood Cemetery.
