Mrs Louise Blank nee Ruehlow was born 24 October 1865 in Naugard, Germany. She departed this life peacefully at the home of her son, Theodore in Reedsburg early Thursday morning, February 2. Her age was 90 years, four months, nine days.
Louise Ruehlow came to this country with her parents in March 1875 and settled near Hartford. After her marriage to Fred Blank they moved to a farm near Hillpoint. Her husband passed away in May, 1926. In March 1950 Mrs Blank moved to Reedsburg with her son Theodore, with whom she continued to live.
The Lord blessed the Fred Blanks with 14 children. Five daughters preceded her in death. Six daughters and three sons survive. They are Mrs William Peper, Mrs Arthur Werth, Mrs Otto Gudenschwager, Mrs Paul Kolba, Theodore Blank, Walter Blank, Herbert Blank, all of this vicinity; Mrs William Harris, and Mrs Hilda Haase of Hobart, Indiana. A sister, Mrs William Schattner, of Racine, 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs Blank and her husband were one of the charter families of St John Evangelical Lutheran church of Tuckertown. She remained a faithful member of this congregation until her death. During the last years her advanced age prevented her attendance at public services, but she regularly requested visits and private Communion from her pastor.
Funeral services were held Saturday, 4 February, at the Gant Funeral home and at St John Ev Lutheran church, Tuckertown. The Rev Loyal Schroeder officiated. Burial took place in St John's cemetery at Tuckertown.
