She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Hardy E. and Bonnie Greene Raxter.

Russell; her daughter, Connie Lynn Russell of Mount Holly; by two brothers, Earl Raxter and wife Louise of Belmont, N.C. and Henry Raxter and wife Linda of Gastonia; by a sister, Margie Raxter Cross of Gastonia; by sisters-in-law, Joann Raxter of Gastonia and Barbara Raxter of Bessemer City, N.C.; and by numerous nieces and nephews
