Frances Gates was born in Council Bluffs,Iowa in 1847 to Maryetta Rowe and Hiram Gates. Her family came with the pioneers to the Salt Lake valley in 1848. Frances was given to Simeon and Dorcas Andrews to raise. For a short time the Andrews lived in Utah County and then settled in Beaver. While living there Frances married James Darling Wiley on 13 June 1867. Ten children were born to this union. Five Children were born in Beaver and five were born in Circleville where James Wiley died in 1896. Frances died at the age of 78 and is buried in Kanosh Cemetery.
