Velda "Sue" (Williams) Oran, age 76, of Evansville, Ind., died at 11:23 a.m. Sunday, September 19, 2004, at Good Samaritan Home.
Mrs. Oran was a homemaker and had worked part time for DeJong's and Sears. She was a graduate of Wheatcroft High School in Wheatcroft, Kentucky. She was a lifetime member of Morningside Cumberland Presbyterian Church and she was a 50-year member of Eastern Star Robert Morris Chapter No. 87, where she had served as past matron. She was past guardian of Job's Daughers and a member of Eagles Auxillary No. 427, where she spent a lot of time with her friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Good Samaritan Home and its staff.
She is also survived by her husband of 61 years, John T. Oran; a daughter, Glenda Gilham and her husband, Robert, of Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Glenda Hill of Evansville, Ind., and Georgia Alexander of Providence, Ky.; one grandson, Robert John Gilham of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Effie Williams; three sisters, Nima Foster, Agnes Sigler and Irene Martin; and a brother, James Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with Reverend Peck Axton officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, where the Eastern Star Robert Morris Chapter No. 87 will conduct a 6:30 p.m. memorial service.
