Forest Messer

Forest Messer, age 85, of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, passed away at 1:45PM on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Koester Pavilion, Troy, Ohio. He was born on May 19, 1925 in Walker, Kentucky to the late Allen and Alice (Mills) Messer. His wife, Betty Lou (Deeter) Messer, preceded him in death in 2003.
He is survived by his children: Connie Bishop of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Forest Lee Messer Jr. and his wife, Suzanne I. Messer of West Chester, Ohio, Jacquelyn Mahan of Troy, Ohio and Cheryl Fortune and her husband, Bob Fortune of Crystal Lake, Illinois; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Messer; and numerous half-sisters and half brothers.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Messer was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Messer and Powers Messer and two sisters, Virgie Brown and Florence Williams.
He retired from Piqua Steel Company and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Baird Funeral Home, Troy is assisting the family with arrangements.
