Services for Launa Bass, 85, of Reynolds Creek, Owyhee County, who died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Nampa hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Flahiff Funeral chapel, Nampa. Paster Jim Hardenbrook of the First Christian Church, Caldwell, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Mrs. Bass was born Nov. 6, 1901, at Nonchalanta, Ness County, Kansas to George W. and Myrta Potts Loveless. She moved with her family to Perry, Okla. in 1915. She attended schools both in Kansas and Oklahoma. She married Jonas E. Bass May 27, 1922, at Perry, Okla. and they made their home in Oklahoma until moving to Caldwell in 1924. She operated a Caldwell popcorn stand for several years. They then lived in Marsing until moving in 1944 to California. In 1950, they moved to Reynolds Creek, where she had since resided. Mr. Bass died July 24, 1977. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Caldwell. She was a charter member of the Owyhee County Cow Belles; a member of Long Beach Chapter No. 173, OES, Long Beach, Calif.; the Wilson Sagehens; and the Chipmunk Grazing Association. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Karen Bass of Reynolds Creek; a daughter and son-in-law Joan and Bud Brogan of Post Falls; a sister, Zella Aigner of Perry, Okla.; three grandsons; a granddaughter; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Memorials may be made to the Mercy Medical Center Hopice Service, Nampa; or flowers may be sent. Friends may call at the Nampa Flahiff Chapel today until 9 p.m. and Saturday until time of services.
