Elrean Loveless was born July 16, 1899 in Woodson County, Kansas to George W. and Myrta Marie Potts Loveless. As a young girl she lived in Woodson County, Yates Center and then her family moved to Ness City, Kansas on February 12, 1901. Her father carried mail by horse and buggy at Ness City. Then in 1915, they came to Oklahoma and lived 5 miles south of Red Rock in Noble County. She attended schools in Noble County. Her family included 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

She went to work for a Mrs. Sparks in Ponca City. She married Charles Barton Golay on January 28, 1920. Elrean and Charles were only married 10 days when she died from the flu and pneumonia on February 6, 1920 at Ponca City.

Elrean is survived by her husband Charles Barton of Ponca City; her parents George and Myrta Loveless of Red Rock; 4 brothers, Harlie, Wilbur, Cecil and Chester of Red Rock; 3 sisters, Launa, Opal, and Zella; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Milford and Mary Golay; a sister-in-law, Helen Loveless; and a niece, Myrta Catherine Loveless. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Della and Vera.

She was laid to rest on February 8, 1920 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
