BATES, Walter Bernard- 55, Middle Stewiacke, Colchester Co. Died June 17, 1999 in Colchester Regonial Hospital, Truro. Born March 28 1944, in Middle Stewiacke, he was the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Burris) Bates. He was a member of Middle Stewiacke United Church. He was employed with C.E. Fisher transport as a bulk milk truck driver. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Leola (Hutchinson); sons, Brent and wife Anna, Wadena, Sask; Kevin and wife Michelle, Middle Stewiacke; grandsons, Gregory, Garrett, Kraig, and Korey; brothers, Richard, Stewiacke; John and wife Lynn, New Minas; Bruce and wife Laurie, Penticton, B.C.; Gerald and wife Nancy, Onslow; sisters; Shirley Hewey, Winnipeg; Marie Hewey, Anola, M.B.; Madeline Parker, Dartmouth; uncle, Lenwood, the Falls; several neices and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Harry, Charles Jr; a sister in infancy. Visitation will be 7-9pm today and funeral service Sunday at 4pm, both in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Rev. Larry Harrison will officiate, with burial in Middle Stewiacke Cemetery. Family flowers only
