HUNTLEY HOME IS GUTTED BY FIRE
Fine Residence of Patrick Carter, Well Known Farmer Destroyed By Fire
The fine home of Mr. Patrick Carter, a well-known Huntley farmer was completely destroyed by fire on Monday afternoon. An implement shed, together with quite a lot of machinery was also burnt. They managed to save most of the furniture and other household goods although some of the furniture was broken while being removed. The barn was saved through the untiring efforts of Mr. Carter and his neighbors. How the fire originated is uncertain though it is thought that a spark from the chimney alighted on the roof and set fire to it making so great headway before it was noticed, as to render the saving of the building impossible.
