Mrs. Mary E. Geiger, 83, of 214 S. Parkway Drive, Brillion, died Sunday at her home after a prolonged illness.
The former Mary Fischer was born April 25, 1899, in the town of Maple Grove, daughter of Herman and Dora Stradel Fischer.
On June 3, 1924, she and Edward Geiger were married in the town of Morrison (Brown County). The couple farmed until Mr. Geiger’s death May 5, 1949.
Mrs. Geiger then served as a cook at Rudy’s Lunch in Brillion for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Brillion, a 50-year member of its Christian Mothers Society and also belonged to Brillion American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) Gleniecki of Junction City, Kansas; Mrs. Bruce (Margaret) Vaughan of Sheboygan Falls, and Mrs. Edward (Magdelin) Penkala of Appleton; two sons, Edward of Sheboygan and Ralph O of Sherwood; 21 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Pettinger of Evanston, Illinois; Mrs. Helen Schuh of Manitowoc, Mrs. Ranada Pritzl of DePere and Mrs. Monica Fogeltanz of Kellnersville; and four brothers, Edwin and Ben Fischer of Manitowoc, Herman Fischer of Grafton and Daniel Fischer, Clarks Mills.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A funeral Mass was offered at St. Mary Church. The Rev. Pete Taylor, pastor, was celebrant. Burial was in the parish cemetery
